Artist Statement
Looking through the camera’s viewfinder with an infrared camera, I can crossover into another world. It is an unseen, surreal world of mystery, fantasy, ethereal beauty and extraordinary light. Infrared is light that is invisible to the naked eye because it’s wavelengths fall beyond the visible light spectrum. Seeing this world is as thrilling as seeing another country for the first time. The experience of looking through the lens is much more important than the resulting photograph. Most of my images have been on my computer untouched until now. As I view these images, I am transported back to the camera; back to the moment I previewed this world. This series is called FROZEN DREAMS. The images feel like they have been extracted from a dream, frozen in another world.
